There are two IELTS exams, Academic and General Training. You need to decide which one you will
take.
What's the difference?
The Academic and General Training exams are very similar in many ways. Both exams test your speaking, reading,
writing and listening. Listening and speaking exams are the same for both types of IELTS exam, but the reading
and writing are different.
If you need to show your level of English for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at a university in Europe
or the US, then you need to take the Academic exam.
If you are going to an English speaking country to finish school, to do work experience or training (but not a
degree), or emigrating to Australia, Canada or New Zealand, then you need to take the General Training exam.
Make sure you know what exam you need to take and prepare for that exam.
