You are given four marks for your task 2 writing answer
One for each of these four things:
- Task Response
- Coherence and Cohesion
- Lexical Resource
- Grammatical Range and Accuracy
This is what each of these means:
Task response
How well have you answered all parts of the question? Do you include good ideas? Do you have a clear position on the
question?
Coherence and cohesion
How well are your ideas and information organised? Do they connect together and is the structure of your answer clear?
Lexical Resource
This means how many different words you use, how well you use them and are they right for the task? For example, are you
using the right words to write a formal letter or to describe how things change in a graph?.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
This means how many different grammar forms you use and how well you use them. You get a better mark if you can use
more complicated forms and a mixture of long and short sentences. If your mistakes cause problems for the examiner then
this will affect your mark.
