Will you be ready?

There are lots of things you can do to be ready for the day of the IELTS exam:

- arrive early, so you have time to relax and get organised, and you know where to go.
- bring a pencil, a pen, a sharpener and an eraser.
- be ready to leave everything else outside the exam room, including your bag and mobile phone.
- bring your identification.
- make sure you know in what order the exam will take place, i.e. which paper is first.
- if you are not sure about something, ask at the start of the exa.m
- if you have a problem, e.g. with your table, tell the invigilator at the beginning.
- in the
listening, if you can't hear well, tell the invigilator at the beginning.
- when you are waiting for the
speaking test, try to speak English with people around you. If you
do this, you will be more ready when the test starts.

The most important thing is to remember what you are going to need to do in each part
of the IELTS exam. Make a mental list for each part. For example:

- in the listening paper, don't forget you will only hear each part once.
- in the
writing paper, remember you must write 150 words for task 1 and 250 for task 2.
- in the
speaking paper, remember that in the second part, you must talk for 2 minutes.
- in the reading paper, don't forget that you do not get extra time at the end to transfer your
answers to the
answer sheet
